Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for The Homeslice Media Group

Understanding the keywords related to your business allows you to be able to dominate the search results by ensuring your business appears when relevant keywords are searched. I used three different methods to determine relevant and potential keywords for The Homeslice Media Group. We’ll examine each method more in detail.

Method 1

For the first method, I used a combination of THEHOTH and Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator to determine a relevant keyword. I started with THEHOTH which allows me to do a competitor analysis by using the website of a competitor and analyzing keywords relevant to that company. I decided to choose Midwest Marketing as the competitor for this analysis. They are another high ranked marketing agency with many years of experience as well. I found keywords that I felt would be relevant to both Midwest Marketing and The Homeslice Media Group and used those for the second part of determining a keyword. The keyword I settled on was “Midwest marketing”. Although this is the exact name of the competitor, it is relevant to both companies because The Homeslice Media Group is a marketer within the midwest region.

I went to Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator and searched using “Midwest marketing” to search for relevant keywords. The search results for this keyword were very limited and not very relevant to The Homeslice Media Group. I altered my keyword to “Marketing agency” based on some of the previous keyword results. Once again, I had many results that I felt weren’t very relevant to The Homeslice Media Group as well as keyword difficulties that weren’t my target difficulties. For a keyword to be promising, you want your keyword difficulty to be either Easy or Medium. I tried altering my keyword search one more time to “Digital marketing agency” and I was able to collect a potential keyword. The keyword I selected was “Digital marketing agency for small businesses”. This keyword returned a difficulty of Medium and search results greater than 1000. You can see the search results in the image below with the keyword inside the red box.

Method 2

The second method I used was a combination of Google Trends and Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator. I started with Google Trends and entered a potential keyword “Digital marketing”. Towards the bottom of the page, there was a box titled “related queries” and I changed the filter from rising to top and one of the results was “Marketing agency”. You can see this result in the image below with the result highlighted by a red box.

Then, I went to Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator an entered “Marketing agency” to find a possible keyword. The search results contained mostly results with Hard keyword difficulty and some Medium difficulty but none of them seemed like a relevant keyword so I altered my search to get a better result. The next time I tried “Marketing agency services”. I was able to obtain a promising result from this search. The keyword I identified was “Marketing agency services list”. This keyword had an Easy keyword difficulty and less than 100 searches a day. You can see the search results with the identified keyword below highlighted in red.

Method 3

For the final method, I used both Google Ads and Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator. I started with Google Ads where I entered multiple potential keywords to start my search. The words I used were “Marketing agency”, “Digital marketing”, “Midwest marketing”, and “Content”. After entering these potential keywords, I adjusted the filters to return results with the exact keywords and the top of page bid is greater than or equal to $1. This search returned three results with a large amount of average monthly searches to search for potential keywords. These results are “Social media marketing agency”, “Marketing companies”, and “Advertising agency”. Below you can see an image of the search results containing these three words.

I then took these three words and used them to search for keywords on Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator. Each of these three words resulted in one potential keyword each. The first one used to search for a potential keyword result was “Social media marketing agency”. The keyword I felt would be the best and most relevant for The Homeslice Media Group based on these results had a Medium keyword difficulty with more than 100 searches. The keyword is “Social media marketing agency for small business”. You can see an image of this search result below highlighted in red.

The second word I used to search for potential keywords was “Marketing companies”. The keyword I obtained from this search had a keyword difficulty of Medium and over 1000 searches. The keyword is “Marketing companies”. I felt like this option was a good, broad option that was still relevant to The Homeslice Media Group with an ideal difficulty. You can see an image of the search result below with the keyword highlighted in red.

The third and final word I used to search for possible keywords was “Advertising agency”. The keyword I collected was another keyword with Medium difficulty and more than 1000 searches. The keyword is “Advertising agency near me”. I felt like this was a common search when looking for a marketing agency that would still be relevant. You can see an image of the search results below with the keyword highlighted in red.

All three of these methods used the Ahrefts Free Keyword Generator for the second part, each had a unique beginning to the search process. Each method had a different first step with each of those being THEHOTH, Google Trends, and Google Ads. Although each method had a unique way of obtaining the keyword results, I was able to obtain a total of five keywords. These keywords were “Digital marketing agency for small businesses”, “Marketing agency services list”, “Marketing companies”, “Social media marketing agency for small business”, and “Advertising agency near me”. Identifying relevant keywords for your company will boost your search engine optimization (SEO) by ensuring your business is relevant in search results.
